Fee Schedule for 2022

In compliance with the Federal No Surprises Act which went into effect January 1, 2022, here are things you should know:

I am working virtually, exclusively for the foreseeable future.  I’m getting very good results doing EMDR remotely, so that is possible.  My fees are the same for virtual and in-person sessions.

I’m a private pay practitioner and request payment at time of service, usually through the HIPAA secure payment platform Ivy Pay.  If you have out-of-network coverage with your insurance company, you are welcome to submit the monthly statement I provide for possible reimbursement.  This statement will contain all the information an insurance company requires, including my license number, tax ID number and NPI number.  Prior the start of treatment, you are responsible to check with your insurance company to find out if preauthorization of sessions is required.  If so, I will help you with that.  This is the only direct interaction I have with insurance companies.  Please note that even if you are allowed to go out-of-network, coverage for telemental health sessions can be discontinued at the discretion of individual insurance companies.

My fees:
90832GT – 25 minutes – $75
90834GT – 45 minutes – $150
90837GT – 60-75 minutes – $210 (usually needed for EMDR)
90853GT – 85-90 minute group – $65 per participant

We will discuss duration of treatment and goal setting periodically.  Clients are free to terminate treatment at any time.

You will be charged 50% of your scheduled fee for cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance. You will be charged your full scheduled fee for “no shows”. Most insurance companies do not reimburse for cancelled or missed sessions.

Report and/or letter writing on a client’s behalf is charged at various rates based on length and complexity of the material covered.  I will give you a written estimate in advance of my fee for these services.

Unfortunately, all my reduced fee slots are presently filled.  I do maintain a waiting list for these opportunities.  Reduced fee arrangements are made individually on a case by case basis.

My initial consultation is 75 minutes, charged at my 45 minute rate of $150.  An initial consultation is not a guarantee of acceptance of a prospective client.  If, after the consultation, either you or I feel the fit is not great, there is no charge for the session.  In such cases, I do my best to suggest referrals where the fit might be more ideal.  It’s presently about a 6-12 week wait for an initial consultation.

I’ve been in practice 40 years and, for good or ill, I know the sad territory of trauma very well.  Most people who work with me report finding understanding, patience, and useful healing approaches.

I’ll be happy to answer any questions I haven’t covered here.  I offer cost free 15-20 minute preliminary phone consultations to prospective clients.
